Fees and Charges

For Clients:

•Free Services: Signing up, posting projects, receiving messages from freelancers, reviewing portfolios, and discussing project requirements are all free.

•Service Fee: A service fee of 3% of the total project cost is charged when placing an order, with a minimum fee of $5. This fee is non-refundable once the order is placed and accepted.

For Freelancers:

•Free Services: Signing up, listing services, communicating with clients, viewing information, and discussing project specifications are all free.

•Commission Structure: FixerOwl charges a 10% commission on the total payment for completed projects. For projects over $1500, the commission rate is reduced to 8%. Freelancers receive the remaining balance after the commission deduction.

Payment Process

1.Order Placement: Payment is processed immediately and held securely in FixerOwl’s account to reserve funds for the freelancer.

2.Order Completion: After completing the project, freelancers mark the order as complete. The client receives a notification to review and confirm the service.

3.Funds Release: Upon client confirmation, FixerOwl releases payment to the freelancer’s account within 24 hours.

4.Clearing Period: Funds are subject to a clearing period—typically 14 days for most freelancers and 7 days for top-rated freelancers—before they can be withdrawn.

5.Withdrawal: Freelancers can withdraw funds via PayPal or bank transfer after the clearing period. Fees may apply based on the withdrawal method, and third-party providers may impose additional fees.

Refund Policy

FixerOwl’s refund process depends on the order stage and specific circumstances:

1.Before Order Completion:

•Mutual Cancellation: If both parties agree to cancel, FixerOwl will refund the payment to the buyer’s balance or the original payment method, based on provider policy.

•Disputes: If a client is dissatisfied, they can request cancellation. Freelancers can accept or reject this request. Disagreements may be mediated by customer support. Freelancers can also cancel if the client provides insufficient information or violates terms.

2.After Order Completion:

•Late Deliveries: Clients can cancel and receive a full refund if the freelancer misses the deadline.

•Unsatisfactory Deliveries: Clients have 3 days post-delivery to request revisions or a refund. If no action is taken, the order is marked complete. For dissatisfaction after completion, clients can contact customer support, but refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

3.Refund Methods:

•Refunds are typically processed back to the buyer’s FixerOwl balance for future use. Requests for refunds to the original payment method can be made through customer support.

4.Non-Refundable Fees:

•Certain fees, such as FixerOwl’s service fee, may not be refundable.

International Transactions

FixerOwl charges for international transactions and currency conversions primarily through:

1.Currency Conversion Fees: A fee of 1% – 4% of the transaction amount applies when dealing with clients in different currencies.

2.Withdrawal Fees: Additional fees may apply when withdrawing funds from your FixerOwl account, depending on the withdrawal method chosen. These fees can vary by financial institution.

3.Payment Method Fees: Third-party payment processors (like PayPal or Stripe) may charge their own fees for currency conversion and international transactions. Always check with the processor for their specific charges.
